Full Slate of Winter Sports Athletes Chosen As Players of the Week

MADISON, N.J. - With all six Landmark winter sports now in competition a total of eight student-athletes have been chosen as Landmark Players of the Week. The Landmark Player of the Week selections are made by the Landmark Conference office.
Men's Basketball:
Senior Eli Londo helped Scranton snap a three-game losing streak
and sweep a pair of Landmark games. He posted back-to-back
double-doubles in wins over Catholic and Goucher, scoring a
career-high 21 points with 11 boards against Catholic, and then
notching 17 points and 10 rebounds against Goucher. He also set a
new Landmark single-game record with eight blocks against the
Cardinals, and added three more against Goucher. He shot 52-percent
from the field while averaging 19 points and 10.5 rebounds.
Women's Basketball:
Megan Kopecki helped Scranton to a 3-0 week with three strong
all-around games. She poured in a career-high 29 points on 10-of-15
shooting as the Royals downed Landmark foe Catholic, and then
followed it with 28 points in a conference win over Goucher. She
added 15 points along with seven assists, three steals and two
blocks in a midweek win over Baruch. For the week she averaged 24
points, five assists, 4.3 rebounds and four steals while shooting
62-percent from the floor and 78-percent from three-point range.
Men's Field:
Freshman Travis King turned in a strong showing at the
non-scored Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic. He bested 18
other competitors to win the triple jump with a leap of
13.85-meters, which already beats the top jump from all of the
2008-09 indoor season. He added a 10th-place finish in the long
jump with a jump of 6.02 meters.
Women's Field:
Moravian’s Anna Heim finished ahead of 24 other
competitors in winning the pole vault competition at the
Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic. The senior cleared the bar
at 3.64 meters, which marks an NCAA Division III provisional
qualifying height.
Men's Swimming & Diving:
Sophomore Marc Dezii helped Scranton win its home finale
with a pair of individual victories as the Royals knocked off
Misericordia. He won the 100 and 200 freestyle in times of 48.93
and 1:49.12 respectively, both of which rank as top-5 times in the
Landmark in those events this season. He also added a runner-up
finish in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:17.57.
Women's Swimming & Diving:
Susquehanna’s Christie Savard earns Swimmer/Diver
of the Week honors for the fourth time after helping the Crusaders
to a tri-meet sweep of Drew and King’s. She won a pair of
individual events, including breaking the school record in the 500
freestyle, which she swam in a time of 5:22.21 which ranks as the
fastest in the conference this season. She also won the 200
butterfly in a time of 2:17.21, and was a part of the winning 200
medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Men's Track:
Eric Woodruff crossed the line first in a pair of
individual events and was a part of winning relay for Moravian at
the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic. The junior finished
first in the 55-meter dash, running 6.60 and also won the 200-meter
dash with a mark of 22.46. Both times were ECAC qualifying marks.
He also ran in Moravian’s 4x200 relay which placed first in a
time of 1:33.68.
Women's Track:
Freshman Angela Shaffer had the top finish for Juniata at
the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic, and broke a school
record in the process. She placed second in the 55-meter dash,
ahead of 36 other athletes, and set a new Juniata record with her
time of 8.99. Off the track she also added a second-place finish in
the high jump.
