Landmark Spring Sports Championships Kick Off On Tuesday

MADISON, N.J. - The Landmark Conference will conclude its second season of competition as conference postseason championships begin with semifinal action starting on Tuesday April 28 and Wednesday April 29. Postseason play will continue May 1 with championships being held on May 2 and May 3.
The action will begin on Tuesday as play begins in the men's tennis postseason. Top-seed Drew University will begin defense of its Landmark title when it hosts fourth-seed Juniata College at 4 p.m. Moravian College earned the second seed and will welcome The University of Scranton for a semifinal at 3:30 p.m.
The women's tennis postseason will take the stage on Wednesday with semifinals being held at Moravian and Juniata. Moravian won the innaugural title last season and garnered the top seed again and will host fourth-seed Scranton at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Juniata is the second seed and will take the court at 2:30 p.m. to face third-seed Goucher College.
Play in men's and women's lacrosse will also kick off with semifinal action on Wednesday. Four different sites will host semifinals beginning at 4 p.m. In the women's lacrosse postseason top-seed Drew will welcome fourth-seed Goucher in a rematch of a semifinal from a season ago. The Catholic University of America will begin its quest to defend its title on the women's side when it hosts Scranton in a match of the second and third seeds. The men's lacrosse action will also begin at 4 p.m. with top-seed Goucher taking on Scranton in what is also a rematch of a semifinal from a year ago. The United States Merchant Marine Academy earned the second seed for the postseason and welcomes third seed Drew for another semifinal rematch from last season.
The Championship matches in men's and women's tennis and men's and women's lacrosse will take place on Saturday May 2 with the semifinal winners facing off at the site of the highest remaining seed.
Champions will also be crowned in baseball softball this week with double-elimination tournaments all taking place at the site of the highest seed. Susquehanna University is hosting the baseball tournament which begins at 9 a.m. on Friday May 1 and continues through Saturday evening with a possible final game played Sunday at noon. Susquehanna is the top seed and will play fourth-seed Catholic in the opening round. Moravian is the number-two seed and will take on third seed USMMA in the first round.
The softball tournament will take place at top-seed Moravian and will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, and then will conclude on Saturday with four games. Moravian won the title a year ago and will begin its defense with a game against four seed Catholic on Friday. Susquehanna and Juniata are the second and third seeds respectively and will face off in round one.
As a second-year athletics conference the winners of Landmark Championships will not earn an automatic bid to NCAA Tournaments. Landmark teams will be eligible to earn bids from Pool B (independents) or Pool C (at-large).
