Landmark Field Hockey Players Earn More Honors

MADISON, N.J. - Following its first season of competition the
Landmark Conference had three players from member institutions earn
recognitino on All-America Teams. Juniata College seniors Kim
Wagner and Heather Hassinger, and freshman teammate Paula Price and
Catholic University freshman Andrea Baick all received recognition
on at least one All-America Team.
Wagner was the only Landmark player to be selected for the National
Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Team as she earned
third-team status on that squad. Wagner and Hassinger were both
honored as All-Americans by the field hockey website
Womensfieldhockey.com and both also were named Division III
All-ECAC recipients. Baick and Price were both also named to the
Womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie Team.
Wagner closed out a career that saw her rewrite the Juniata record
books. She leaves as the program's career leader in points (184)
and goals (81). Her 25 goals ranks second among single season
efforts, trailing only the 31 goals she scored in 2006; she holds
three of the top four single season performances in goals scored,
and three of the top five single season efforts in total points.
The honors make Wagner a two-time All-American; she was named to
both the NFHCA and Womensfieldhockey.com squads in 2006 as
well.
Hassinger had five goals and seven assists this season, on her way
to earning Landmark Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year
honors and a spot on the All-Landmark Conference First team. She
helped Juniata lead the conference with 11 shutouts and also post a
conference-best 1.00 team goals against average.
Price tallied 11 goals and three assists for 25 points in her
freshman campaign. She was tied for second on the team in scoring,
third in goals, and was fourth in the league in scoring (1.14
points/game) on her way to earning Landmark Conference Rookie of
the Year honors. Price, who was also tied for fourth in goals per
game (0.50), was a Second Team All-Landmark Conference
selection.
Baick was named the Landmark Co-Defensive Player of the Year after
helping the Cardinals to the regular-season conference title and an
appearance in the conference championship match. In just her first
collegiate season she played and started all 20 matches, helping
Catholic limit foes to just 23 goals and record a 1.13 goals
against average. Catholic piled up seven shutouts during the
season, including two in conference play.
