Men's Athlete of the Week - Julian Gonzalez, Goucher
Men's Athlete of the Week Julian Gonzalez Goucher (Fr., Heredia, Costa Rica) Goucher freshman Julian Gonzalez opened the spring season with a second-round score of one under par (71) to move up to second place after shooting a 77 in the first round at the Pfeiffer Invitational on Tuesday. The freshman finished with a two-round score of 148 to notch his fifth Top-three finish of his career including his fourth Top-two finish to lead the Goucher men's golf team to a fifth-place standing and fourth among the Division III schools at the event.
Women's Athlete of the Week - Lucy Lamb, Drew
Women's Athlete of the Week Lucy Lamb Drew (So., Palo Alto, Calif.) Drew sophomore Lucy Lamb tied for 11th among 57 competitors and had a hand in four school records as the Rangers opened their spring at the Pfeiffer Invitational. Her opening-round 79 lowered the previous Drew standard by two strokes, and her final score of 175 tied the program record. In addition, Lamb helped the Rangers break team records for 18 holes (345) and 36 holes (712). Taking on Division II and III competition, Drew placed sixth out of 10 schools.
