Landmark Honors Second Semester Senior Scholar Athletes
The Landmark Conference has chosen fourteen student-athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective winter and spring sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities. It is the most exclusive award given out by the conference with just 20 honorees for each academic year.

Scranton Moves To Top Of President's All-Sports Cup Standings
The University of Scranton Royals have claimed the top spot in the Landmark Presidents All-Sports Cup standings after the completion of the winter season. Twelve of the twenty sports in the Landmark Conference have now concluded leaving institutions only the spring season to leave their mark on the standings. After claiming three Landmark Conference Championships Scranton has accumulated a score of 7.65 to edge out previous leader Susquehanna Universitys score of 7.38.

Landmark Honors Thirty-Two Student-Athletes On Winter All-Academic Team
The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2009Winter Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark winter sports and must be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

The Landmark Conference has recognized 236 student-athletes by selecting them for the 2009 Winter Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions.

Landmark Announces Men's Basketball All-Conference Team
A total of 12 student-athletes have been selected to the 2008-09 All-Landmark Conference Mens Basketball Team as selected by the conferences eight head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six players on each team, and the selections made by position. The voting for the All-Conference Team took place after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

Landmark Sends Three Teams To NCAA Basketball Tournaments
Three Landmark Conference basketball teams have earned bids to the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament as announced Monday morning. Tournament play will begin with all three teams hitting the floor on Friday evening with first-round action with second round games taking place on Saturday. Game times have not been determined for the first-round games.

Scranton Men Claim Landmark Hoops Title In Overtime
Sophomore guard Zach Ashworth (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) etched his name among the all-time legendary performances in University of Scranton men's basketball history Saturday night in the championship game of the Landmark Conference tournament at the Long Center. He connected on 9 of 11 shots from the field to finish with a career-high 26 points as the Royals held off Susquehanna, 80-75 in overtime, to win their second straight Landmark title and 19th overall conference championship in school history.

For the second night in a row, the Goucher men's basketball team shot better than 50 percent from the field. But unlike yesterday in a 16-point loss to Washington & Lee, the Gophers did a much better job protecting the ball tonight, plus they held their own on the boards. As a result, they avenged a four-point loss to Marymount back in November by defeating the Saints, 78-64.

Former Juniata College forward Brian Cannon '08 (Fallston, Md./Fallston) returns to the basketball court this week, but his chances of winning aren't great. He's playing for a team whose own website touts the fact it has won just one game, while losing... maybe thousands. Cannon will be playing for the Washington Generals, touring opponent of the Harlem Globetrotters, when the Globetrotters open an international tour on this week in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Drew Names New Men's Basketball Coach
Darryl Keckler, most recently the top assistant at Gettysburg College, has been named Drews Head Coach of Mens Basketball. The announcement was made by Drews new Director of Athletics, Jason Fein, as his first hire at Drew. Keckler had been with the highly successful Bullets program for the past five seasons, including Gettysburgs record breaking 2007-08 trip to the Sweet 16.
