Two Landmark Men's Basketball Players Earn All-Region Honors

MADISON, N.J. - A pair of Landmark Conference men's basketball
players earned recognition with selection to the 2009 D3hoops.com
All-Region Teams. Catholic sophomore Jason Banzhaf was a first-team
pick, and Susquehanna senior Joel Patch claimed second-team
honors.
Both players were selected to the Mid Atlantic Region team, which
featured a first, second and third team with five players on each
team.
Banzhaf wrapped up the 2008-09 season with a conference leading
20.3 ppg. He also finished the season shooting over 56% from the
field and over 80% from the charity stripe. Through only two
seasons with CUA Banzhaf has ammassed 884 points. He led the
Landmark in scoring his sophomore season, and earned first-team
All-Conference honors this season after claiming second-team honors
last season and being named the Landmark Rookie of the Year.
Patch was one of 10 men's finalists for the 2009 Jostens
Trophy--awarded to the NCAA Division III Player of the Year. He led
the Landmark Conference this past season and is tied for 14th in
Division III in rebounding with 11.2 rebounds per game. He also
finished second in the Landmark in scoring (17.5 points per game)
and fourth in blocked shots (27). Patch finished the 2008-09
campaign with 16 double-doubles, including four straight to end the
season he was also a first-team all-Landmark player this past
season and the conference's Player of the Year.
