Goucher Lacrosse Player Named Program's First Scholar All-American

PRINCETON, N.J. - For the first time in its 16-year existence, Goucher's men's lacrosse program has produced a Scholar All-American. That honor goes to Dan Flamholz (Baltimore, MD/Park School), one of only 40 collegiate players throughout the nation who were so recognized today through the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Scholar All-America Program.

The USILA established its Scholar All-America Program in 1989 to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically, and as citizens of their communities. Flamholz, who achieved a 3.36 cumulative grade point average at Goucher, graduated earlier this month with a B.A. in communications.

A four-year letterwinner, Flamholz was the Gophers' leading scorer in 2007 with 29 goals and 16 assists. He completed his career as Goucher's all-time leader in career assists (103) and was an All-Capital Athletic Conference selection following his final three seasons.

The USILA recognized its Scholar All-Americans today at the organization's annual All-America Banquet.
