July 8, 2010Landmark Honors Spring Sport Senior Scholar Athletes
Eight student-athletes have been chosen as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective spring sports. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.

Ranked Foe Foils Drew's Tourney Run
Drew men's tennis fell victim to #10 Johns Hopkins this morning, 5-0, ending their 2010 season. The Rangers were shut out for only the second time this season and had their 10-match winning streak snapped.

Rangers Win NCAA Opener
The Drew men's tennis team extended its winning streak to ten as they defeated Lycoming College 5-0 at the Goucher College Tennis Center this afternoon. The win sets up a second-round matchup with regional host, Johns Hopkins at 10:00 AM tomorrow.

Landmark Honors Men's Tennis All-Conference Team
Following one of the most competitive seasons in the three-year history of the Landmark Conference 18 student-athletes have been selected to the 2010 All-Landmark Conference Mens Tennis Team as selected by the conferences eight head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six singles players and three doubles pairings per team, and the voting took place prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

Seven Teams Representing The Landmark In NCAA Tournaments
A total of seven Landmark Conference teams have earned the right to represent the conference in NCAA Division III Tournament play as announced Monday May 10. The first teams will be in action on Wednesday as three teams take part in opening round games. One more will begin competition on Thursday, with the remaining three kicking off competition on Friday

Rangers Hold Off Royals For Landmark Championship
The Drew Men's Tennis team took home its 10th consecutive conference title and third-straight in the Landmark Conference after defeating Scranton, 5-3 this afternoon. The Rangers are a perfect 28-0 against Landmark opponents and run their conference winning streak to 83 straight matches.

Royals Men's Tennis Earn First Landmark Final Appearance
The University of Scranton is now one step away from a Landmark Conference title and an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III championships. Behind two wins apiece from junior Carl Caceres and freshman Joe Morra and Tim McGurrin , the Royals defeated Moravian College, 8-0, to advance to Saturdays championship match.

Gophers Collect First Landmark Win
The point Dave Hemelt (Parkville, Md./Loch Raven) earned for his 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over Kyle Kempinsky at No. 6 singles put Goucher over the top against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy today, giving the Gophers their first Landmark Conference win of the 2009-10 season.

Freshman Michael Hickey (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) earned a first-flight singles win and a second-flight doubles to win lead Susquehanna University to a 7-1 non-conference men's tennis victory over visiting King's College (Pa.) at the James W. Garrett Sports Complex on April 8.

Merchant Marine Tennis Moves To 2-0
On Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy tennis squad defeated York College, 7-2, in the Bronx, N.Y. With the victory, the Mariners improved to 2-0 on the young season. Following the defeat, the Spartans fell to 4-6.

Both Juniata College tennis teams posted wins over Frostburg State University on Wednesday afternoon, in a pair of matches played in Frostburg, Md. The Juniata men posted a 9-0 win over Frostburg, while the women's team logged a 6-3 triumph over the Bobcats.

Catholic Men's Tennis Coach Picks Up Historic Win
After losses to Gettysburg College (9-0) and Mount Union (8-1), the CUA mens tennis team defeated Defiance College of Ohio 6-3 during their spring break tournament in South Carolina. The win over Defiance was Coach Marty Dowds 500th victory in his 47th season with the Cardinals, making him the coach with the most wins in CUA history- by a landslide.

The University of Scranton extended its winning streak to five by defeating St. Norbert College (Wisconsin), 5-4, Monday evening and Nebraska Wesleyan, 8-1, Tuesday morning.

Landmark Men's Tennis Teams Ready To Hit The Courts In 2010
The Drew University mens tennis team brought a streak of conference championships with it to the Landmark, and that streak has grown in the first two years of Landmark play. Several teams took shots at the Rangers last season, and with the 2010 season now underway the race the battle to try and end Drews reign atop the standings has begun.

Moravian Names Bill Maxwell New Head Men's Tennis Coach
Bill Maxwell has been named the head coach of the Moravian College mens tennis team, effective immediately.
