Juniata Gets Past USMMA For Landmark Win

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Juniata College men's tennis posted its first Landmark Conference victory of the season with a 7-2 triumph over the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Saturday afternoon in Kings Point, N.Y.

Juniata (3-7) opened the match by taking all three doubles matches, with the tandem of Matt Butler (Quakertown, Pa./Salisbury School) and Andrew Hoffman (Blain, Pa./Susquehanna Township) having the toughest battle in their 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown), Brice Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro), Tucker Good (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area), and Butler all posted wins, with all but Good recording two-set victories. Good won the first set of his No. 4 singles match against Frank Sysko, 6-0, but dropped set two, 2-6, before winning the third set 6-3.

Juniata will host Penn State Altoona on Wednesday afternoon, March 21, at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts, before facing Moravian College in a Landmark match on Saturday, March 24.
