KING'S POINT, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team posted a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory at The United States Merchant Marine Academy Saturday.
The Greyhounds, now 6-3 overall and 3-3 in Landmark Conference action, had a 2-1 lead after doubles. Seniors Kevin Holze and Doug Morrow had an 8-3 win at first doubles while senior Drew Shreter and freshman Lewis Cooper posted an 8-0 victory at second doubles. For Holze and Shreter, their doubles wins were the 40th of their careers, becoming the fourth and fifth men's tennis players in school history with 40 career doubles win and are just one shy of tying the school record of 41.
Moravian then won five of the six singles matches. Holze had a straight sets win at first singles for his 47th career win while Morrow earned a straight sets victory at second singles. Shreter picked up 44th career victory added a straight sets win at third singles while Cooper won in two sets at fourth singles. Senior David Chan earned a straight sets victory at sixth singles.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 18 in a non-conference match versus Neumann University starting at 4:00 p.m.
