Three Landmark Swimmers Qualify For NCAA Championship

MADISON, N.J. - Three Landmark Conference swimmers have qualified to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships which will take place March 21-24 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Frank Vita and Kevin Lindgren of the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Joshua Heller of Susquehanna University all qualified to compete at the meet.

Vita earned All-America honors for USMMA last year, with two top-15 finishes. This year he qualified to swim in the 200 butterfly, and is also eligible to compete in the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley at the meet. He enters the meet ranked sixth in the 200 butterfly, 26th in the 100 butterfly and 46th in the 200 IM. He'll be joined by freshman Kevin Lindgren who qualified to swim in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, and will also be able to swim in the 200 individual medley. Lindgren is ranked fourth in the 200 backstroke, 15th in the 100 backstroke and 20th in the 200 IM.

Heller qualifies for the second time in as many seasons in the 50 freestyle, and will also swim in the 100 free and 100 backstroke. Heller ranks eighth in the 50 free with his time of 20.48 which he set at the Landmark Championship. He also set prs in the 100 free and 100 backstroke this season.

The competition will begin with preliminaries on Wednesday, March 21 at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
