Scranton Names Cindy Wilson New Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
Toby Lovecchio, athletics director at The University of Scranton, announced this morning that Cindy Wilson has been hired as head women’s lacrosse coach. She becomes the fourth head coach in the program’s 13-year history.

Trailing Redlands 5-3 with 10:19 remaining in the first half on Saturday, CUA unleashed a 9-0 run that propelled the Cardinals to a 17-10 win over the Bulldogs in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The win sends the Cardinals to their third regional final in the last five years.

The Cardinals will host Christopher Newport in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament, CUA learned on Sunday evening. After capturing its fifth consecutive Landmark Conference championship, CUA will host an NCAA Tournament game for the fourth straight year.

Goucher took a 1-0 lead just 15 seconds into today's game against Gwynedd-Mercy when Becca Smith (Leesburg, Va./Heritage), one of four seniors on the 2012 roster playing the final game of her career, deposited a free-position shot in the goal.

Drew Prevails In Third Overtime
It took over 70 minutes of lacrosse but the Rangers prevailed, 15-14 over Connecticut College(4-9) this evening in Ranger Stadium. With the win Drew climbs back to the .500 mark, evening its record to 7-7 on the year.

A 13-goal first half helped propel the Susquehanna women’s lacrosse team to an 18-9 win over visiting Frostburg State and in the process, ran its unbeaten streak to 10 straight. The Crusaders improve to 10-0 on the season, the best start in program history.

The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team scored seven straight goals during a big second half that lifted the Royals to a 12-10 victory over Goucher College in the Landmark Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

Drew Gets Past Local Rival By Narrow Margin
Drew (5-4) took a two-goal lead midway through the second half and was able to hang on, 11-10 for its fifth-straight win over Fairleigh Dickinson (3-5) this evening. Sophomore goalie Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made 10 saves to earn win number five on the year.

A solid, all-around effort from the Susquehanna women’s lacrosse team gave the Crusaders a 20-6 win over visiting Marymount (Va.) on Wednesday night. The victory marked the fourth in a row for SU, the first time the team has been 4-0 under fourth-year head coach Laura Moan.
