Moravian Keeps Rolling With Win Over Rival

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Moravian sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara scored in the 72nd minute to lead the Greyhounds to their fourth consecutive win with a 1-0 women's soccer non-conference victory over rival Muhlenberg College on the HUB Quad.

Valdetara took a long lead pass from junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick and chipped a shot over the goalie's from 15-yards out on the right wing for her third goal of the season.

Fitzpatrick had a shot to give Moravian a lead in the 43rd minute but hit the crossbar with one of her six shots in the match. The win was Moravian's second straight and sixth of the season by shutout.

Muhlenberg dominated possession of the ball most of the match, out-shooting Moravian 14-11, and the Mules also had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

Greyhound junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan registered six saves as she moved into a tie for second in school history with Jill Vaccaro with her 21st career shutout. Moravian also made two team saves with defenders clearing balls off of the goal line.

Sophomore goalie Kate Morrissey posted four saves for Muhlenberg.
