Moravian Falls In Tight NCAA Match

CLINTON, NY - The Moravian College women's soccer team had its
2007 season come to a close with a 2-0 loss at Hamilton (NY)
College in the First Round of the NCAA Division III National
Championship Tournament Saturday afternoon.
The loss marked the first time this season Moravian lost
back-to-back matches.
After a scoreless first half, the Continentals, who were ranked eighth in the nation in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division III Top 25 Poll, got on the scoreboard in the 50th minute when freshman forward Lauren Farver scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Anne Gravely on a rebound. Hamilton extended its lead to 2-0 in the 75th minute when senior forward Nicole Tetreault scored off of a pass from freshman forward Katie Lyons.
Hamilton had a 12-11 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) had five saves for the Greyhounds while senior keeper Caitlin McGilley had six saves in the shut out for the Continentals.
