Cross Country Runners Collect All-Region Honors

MADISON, N.J. - Nine Landmark cross country runners were selected to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associat ion All-Region Teams based on their performances at the NCAA Regionals this past weekend.

The top-35 individual finishers in the men's and women's races at the eight NCAA Regional competitions are recognized as All-Region performers by the USTFCCCA. The Landmark had five men and four women earn All-Region honors this season.

On the men's side Scranton Chris Wasnetsky was the top finisher as he placed eighth at the Mideast Regional. Susquehanna's Paul Thistle was the only other top-20 finisher for the men as he placed 13th in the Mideast. Catholic's Andrew Smith earned a 25th-place finish in the South Regional, while Juniata's Matthew Bailey and Susquehanna's Mike Harahan placed 27th and 35th respectively in the Mideast.

For the women Susquehanna's Casey Hess led four All-Region honorees with her fifth-place performance in the Mideast Regional. Her Susquehanna teammate Alycia Woodruff also earned a top-20 performance by placing 17th. Catholic's Remy Ball placed 31st in the South Regional to earn All-Region accolades, and Juniata's Laura Rupprecht claimed All-Region status with a 32nd-place finish in the Mideast.

Wasnetsky, Thistle, Bailey and Hess have all qualified to compete at the NCAA Championships, taking place Nov. 28 in Highland Hills, Ohio. For a complete release about the Landmark NCAA qualifiers click here.
