Landmark Coaches Select Field Hockey All-Conference Team

Landmark Coaches Select Field Hockey All-Conference Team

MADISON, N.J. – Twenty-four student-athletes have been recognized by the Landmark Conference as members of the 2011 All-Landmark Conference Field Hockey Team, as selected by the seven Landmark head field hockey coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with the selections being made by position. The voting for the All-Conference Team took place after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

After an unbeaten conference regular season and reaching 10th in the Division III National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll The Catholic University of America was rewarded with eight All-Conference nods, including seven first-team selections. The team also collected major awards with senior Tracey Scanlon voted Player of the Year, Colleen Harwood earning Rookie of the Year honors and Head Coach Gia Cillizza and her staff being picked as Coaching Staff of the Year. Scranton senior Gretchen Kempf captured the other major honor as she was voted Offensive Player of the Year. The team was awash with newcomers as seven freshmen claimed All-Conference honors and all seven Landmark teams were represented with at least one selection.
