  • Spring Athletes Earn A Host Of ECAC Honors

    A total of 14 Landmark Conference spring sport student-athletes earned spots on ECAC All-Star Teams. The Landmark placed five recipients on both the baseball and softball teams to go along with three women's lacrosse honorees and one men's lacrosse selection.
  • Landmark Announces Spring Senior Scholar Athletes

    The Landmark Conference has selected eight student-athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective spring sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the spring sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.
  • Drew's DeGiovanni Named All-American
    May 29, 2008
    Drew junior Michael DeGiovanni was named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association honorable mention All-American. The Landmark Conference Player of the Year, DeGiovanni gave the Landmark a representative in its first year of existence.
  • Landmark Announces Spring All-Academic Team

    The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2008 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.
  • Landmark Names Spring Academic Honor Roll

    A total of 363 student-athletes have been recognized for their success in athletic competition and in the classroom as they have been named to the 2008 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions.
  • Drew Lacrosse Wins Second Championship

    Drew’s men’s lacrosse team won its second title of the season by defeating Swarthmore, 7-5, in the ECAC Metro/South Championships. The Rangers had lost to the Garnets two weeks ago, but avenged that loss with a big road victory to finish the season at 11-7. Jon Bucknan scored three goals in the win while Michael Celentano made 14 saves to be named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. It is the first ECAC Title for the Rangers since 2000.
  • Drew Lacrosse Teams Earn ECAC Bids

    The Drew University men’s and women’s lacrosse teams have each earned bids to the ECAC Metro/South Region Championships. The six-team women’s championship will begin Wednesday May 6, while the four-team men’s championship will start Friday May 9.

  • Drew Men's Lacrosse Claims Landmark Title

    Some championships are won when an individual player puts his team on his back and carries them to the title; others are won when a team as a whole steps up to play better than the sum of its parts. Today, the Drew Rangers were the later as they won a tense, hard fought affair with the Goucher Gophers to take the inaugural Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse championships, 8-5, at Ranger Stadium.
  • Landmark To Crown Spring Sports Champions

    The first season of Landmark Conference competition will conclude with four spring sports competing for Landmark Championships May 3-4. The men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and softball championships will all be decided Saturday May 3, while the Landmark baseball postseason will conclude on Sunday May 4.
  • Late Rally Sends Drew To Landmark Championship Game

    It was a night of redemption for the Rangers men's lacrosse team as they avenged an earlier loss to USMMA with a thrilling 9-7 win. Rob Budziszewski, who's senior season has been a brilliant one, scored the game winner with just 33 seconds left to send Drew to the Landmark Finals. The Rangers had trailed 7-4 in the fourth before scoring the last five goals of the game to advance to the Landmark Conference Championship game to be held at Drew on Saturday against Goucher.
  • Gophers Top Royals In Landmark Semifinal

    Goucher filled one of the spots in Saturday's Landmark Conference men's lacrosse championship game by pummeling Scranton, 12-2, today in the semifinals of the conference's inaugural postseason tournament.
  • Men's Lacrosse All-Landmark Honorees Announced

    After a successful and highly-competitive first season of competition, 24 student-athletes have been named to the 2008 All-Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Team as voted by the conference’s seven head coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with 12 honorees on each team. The voting for the team was done by position.

  • Catholic Lacrosse Falls In Seven Overtime Thriller
    April 22, 2008
    Three hours and seven overtimes was not enough for the Catholic University men's lacrosse squad to get a victory Tuesday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium. After leading for much of regulation, the Cardinals fell 10-9 to the York College Spartans (6-6) in a seven-overtime thriller. CUA is now 6-9 on the season with one game to go.

    Senior goalie Robert Boyd did not surrender a goal in the first half which helped lead the United States Merchant Marine Academy lacrosse team to a decisive 15-5 victory over Susquehanna on Saturday. With their fifth straight win, the Mariners qualify for the Landmark Conference Postseason.

    In a game that featured six ties and three lead changes, the United States Merchant Marine Academy lacrosse team pulled out a thrilling 11-10 overtime victory over Drew University in Madison, N.J. on Wednesday evening.

  • USMMA Men's Lacrosse Supporting Headstrong Foundation

    Anybody who watched the men’s lacrosse game between the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Connecticut College on Wednesday night at Captain Tomb Field in Kings Point, New York would’ve noticed that the entire Mariners team was wearing lime green shoelaces. Spearheaded by sophomore goalie Keegan Boyle, the Mariners all wore the shoelaces to benefit the HEADstrong Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Nick Colleluori while he was battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Colleluori, who was then a member of the men’s lacrosse team at Hofstra University, created the HEADstrong Foundation while he was fighting his disease.

    The University of Scranton jumped out to a 10-0 halftime lead on its way to a convincing 19-1 victory over Wells College in men's lacrosse non-conference action Thursday evening at Fitzpatrick Field.

  • Cardinals Win Defensive Battle

    The Catholic University men's lacrosse team won its second straight Monday with a 6-4 victory over the Eastern University Eagles (3-8). The teams went into halftime tied but a big fourth quarter from the Cards sealed the win. CUA is now 6-5 on the season.
  • Goucher Slides Past Scranton In Overtime

    An unassisted goal by Brian Hoge (Crofton, MD/Arundel) 2:29 into overtime today provided the Goucher men's lacrosse team with a 7-6 victory over Scranton and allowed the Gophers to move into a tie with Drew for first place in the Landmark Conference.

    Senior tri-captain Ryan Merritt and Brian Flannery scored four goals apiece to help lead the United States Merchant Marine Academy lacrosse team to a 17-13 win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in a battle of NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago at Kings Point. The Battling Bishops had advanced to three straight NCAA Tournaments after winning three consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.

    he Catholic University men's lacrosse squad (1-0) started off on the right foot Saturday with a 12-3 victory over the Emerson College Lions (0-3) at Cardinal Stadium in its home opener. Freshman Pat Becker (Telford, Pa./Souderton) along with junior Kyle Brant (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's) each notched a pair of goals for CUA as the Cards shutout the Lions in the second half.
  • Goucher Gets To 3-0 For First Time

    The three starting attackmen for Goucher combined to score 14 goals in leading the Gophers (3-0) to a convincing 21-6 victory over Washington & Jefferson today at Homewood Field on the Johns Hopkins campus.
