Athletes Of The Week

Men's Athlete of the Week - Jack Mahoney, Drew
Men's Athlete of the Week Jack Mahoney Drew (Senior, Erie, Pa.) Drew senior Jack Mahoney had a hand in six victories (two individual, four relays) while leading Drew to the Ranger Invitational title. He captured both the 50-free (21.47) and 100-free (46.65) with times that currently rank No. 1 in the Landmark Conference. His 100 time also lowered his own school and meet records. In addition, Mahoney helped reset meet records in all four of his relays while also breaking school records in both the 400-free relay (3:10.16) and the 800-free relay (7:00.72). The 800-free relay team's time was nearly six seconds faster than the previous school record and eight seconds better than the former meet record.
Women's Athlete of the Week - Katie Cashin, Drew
Women's Athlete of the Week Katie Cashin Drew (Fr., Franklin, Mass.) Freshman Katie Cashin helped lead Drew to the Ranger Invitational title with an outstanding performance. She won four events (three individually) while posting four meet records and three school records. Individually, her times in the 200-IM (2:08.37) 100-fly (57.61), and 200-fly (2:06.28) all rank No. 1 in the Landmark Conference this season. All three times were also meet records, and her 200-IM and 200-fly marks established school records as well. In addition, Cashin swam on the winning 400-freestyle relay team that set both a school and meet record.
