  • Landmark Track Programs Claim Academic Honors

    Two Landmark Conference track & field student-athletes and two women's track & field programs have all earned recognition for academic achievement from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
  • Landmark Announces Spring Senior Scholar Athletes

    The Landmark Conference has selected eight student-athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective spring sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the spring sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.

    The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2008 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.

    On the final day of competition at the 2008 NCAA Track & Field Championships Landmark Conference athletes earned three more All-America honors. Over the three day meet Landmark competitors claimed six All-America honors.

    A total of 363 student-athletes have been recognized for their success in athletic competition and in the classroom as they have been named to the 2008 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions.

    Landmark Conference student-athletes turned in several more strong performances on the second day of competition at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The day's highlight was Moravian senior Ozzie Brown winning the decathlon to claim his second NCAA individual championship of his senior year.

    Moravian College sophomore Anna Heim and Juniata College senior Matt Booth placed thid in the women's pole vault and men's long jump respectively to earn All-America Honors on the first day of competition at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
  • Landmark Sending 10 Athletes To NCAA Track Championships

    The first season of competition in the Landmark Conference will conclude this weekend as 10 Landmark student-athletes compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Oskosh Wisconsin. The meet begins Thursday May 22 and will conclude Saturday May 24. The 10 Landmark athletes will compete in 10 different events.

  • Cardinals Place Third At Messiah Invite

    The Catholic University women's track and field squad placed third at the Messiah Invitational Saturday in Pennsylvania. The Cardinals scored 59 points placing behind Messiah and Gettysburg in the 17-team meet where they also competed against Landmark-rival Goucher College who was 14th.

  • Landmark Releases Updated All-Sport Standings

    On the strength of three team championships during the winter season The University of Scranton has surged to the top of the Landmark Conference All-Sport Trophy standings through the completion of the winter sports season. The Royals, who were in second place through the fall season, sit at the top of the standings with 7.28 points. Juniata College dropped into the second position with 6.59 points, with Moravian College just percentage points behind at 6.55. Susquehanna University rounds out the top four with 5.95 points.

  • Moravian Women Claim ECAC Track Title

    The Greyhound women placed first of 51 teams scoring points at the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Indoor Championships that were competed at Harvard University. Moravian had a final team score of 56 points, 13.5 points ahead of runner-up Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 14 points ahead of third-place Bates College, which scored 42 points. On the men's side The Greyhounds moved up four spots on the final day to finish as the runner-up of the 58 teams scoring points

  • Crusaders Perform Well At Home Invitational

    The Susquehanna University men's indoor track and field team hosted the Susquehanna Invitational at the Garrett Sports Complex on Friday. No team scoring was kept at the meet. On the track, the Crusader men were led by sophomore sprinter Josh Simpson (North Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) who captured gold in both the 55 meter dash (6.59) and the 200 meter dash (23.37). In addition to winning his individual events, Simpson aided in Susquehanna’s 4x200 second-place finish of 1:38.31. He was accompanied by Tony McIntosh (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove), Keith Howell (North Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) and Brian Ross (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy).
