  • Landmark Honors Second Semester Senior Scholar Athletes

    The Landmark Conference has chosen fourteen student-athletes as Landmark Senior Scholar Athletes for their respective winter and spring sports. A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors selected the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities. It is the most exclusive award given out by the conference with just 20 honorees for each academic year.

    Moravian College graduate men’s track athlete Nathaniel Tussey (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown HS) has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
  • Landmark Releases Spring All-Academic Team

    The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2009 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.

    Graduate student Nathaniel Tussey (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown HS) of the Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country First Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

    The second day of competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Marietta, Ohio saw a Landmark athlete earn All-America honors for the second time in as many days as Moravian junior Anna Heim placed second in the pole vault to claim that honor.

    For the second straight year, the Moravian College men’s and women’s track & field teams are returning home from Springfield College as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Track and Field Champions after both Greyhounds repeated as champions in the two-day meet.

    Moravian College junior Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) won the Women's College Pole Vault at the 115th Penn Relays Thursday. She was one of two Landmark student-athletes competing at the historic meet on Thursday.

  • Huber Tops High Jump Field At Bucknell Classic
    April 11, 2009
    Susquehanna University competed at Bucknell University's Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium from April 10-11. Freshman Graham Huber (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) won a jump-off to place first in the high jump, clearing 2.02 meters (6 feet, 7 1/2 inches). With the jump, Huber provisionally qualified for the 2009 NCAA Division III outdoor track & field championships.

    Seniors Kelsey Buffenmyer (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) and Katie Tavenner (Oaks, Pa./Spring-Ford) each captured a pair of first place finishes in the women's events while senior Kyle Mazur (Ogdensburg, N.J./Morris Catholic) and Patrick Filamor (Wanchai, Hong Kong/Int' School of Manila) had a pair of individual firsts for the men, at the 2009 Juniata Quad, Saturday at Knox Stadium.
  • Scranton Moves To Top Of President's All-Sports Cup Standings

    The University of Scranton Royals have claimed the top spot in the Landmark President’s All-Sports Cup standings after the completion of the winter season. Twelve of the twenty sports in the Landmark Conference have now concluded leaving institutions only the spring season to leave their mark on the standings. After claiming three Landmark Conference Championships Scranton has accumulated a score of 7.65 to edge out previous leader Susquehanna University’s score of 7.38.

  • Records Fall For Goucher At Battleground Relays
    March 28, 2009
    Goucher's Zachary Martin (Victor, N.Y./Victor Central) set a new school record in the 3,000-meter run when he placed fourth in that event on Friday at the Battlrground Relays. He came back today with a fifth-place performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
  • Landmark Honors Thirty-Two Student-Athletes On Winter All-Academic Team

    The Landmark Conference has announced that 32 student-athletes have been honored with selection to the 2009Winter Landmark All-Academic Team. Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark winter sports and must be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

    The Landmark Conference has recognized 236 student-athletes by selecting them for the 2009 Winter Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions.

  • Susquehanna's Huber Earns All-America Status

    Susquehanna University's freshman Graham Huber (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) tied for eighth place out of 14 athletes in the men's high jump at the 2009 NCAA Division III indoor track & field championships, held at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Sports and Recreation Center field house from March 13-14. Huber competed on March 14.
  • Moravian Sits In Fifth Place At NCAA Indoor Track Championships

    The Moravian College women’s track & field team had three competitors on the first day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships being hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with two of them earning All-America honors. The team is currently tied for fifth with ten points.

    One team defended its title and another claimed the first conference title in program history as the Moravian College women and Susquehanna University men earned team championships at the Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday afternoon at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa.
