TOWSON, Md. - The top four teams qualified for spots in the Landmark Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday. Catholic earned the top seed last weekend after jumping out to a 6-0 record in the conference. The Cardinals wrapped up the regular season with a tie against Juniata to finish with 19 points and the No. 1 seed.
Elizabethtown and Scranton knew they would be competing in the playoffs, but they had to face off on Saturday to determine who would host the second semifinal. Elizabethtown came from behind to defeat Scranton 4-3 and clinch the No. 2 seed in the tournament with 18 points. Of course the two teams will face off again in four days in the semifinal with Scranton as the No. 3 seed with 13 points.
The final spot came down to Moravian and Drew and they also had to face off on Saturday. The Rangers tallied the game's only goal midway through the first half to take the 1-0 win and lock up the No. 4 seed with nine points.
Catholic will host Drew on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the first semifinal. Scranton will travel to Elizabethtown for the second semifinal for a 6:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday. The semifinal winners will face off in the championship Saturday, Nov. 8 at the highest remaining seed.
